February 2010 Featured Band
Formed in 1996, The Static Rituals have 3 full-length albums, 2 EP's and have been on a slew of compilations. Having started as a high school trio with high-energy alternative/grunge/punk angst going on, they have gone through nearly as many transitions in sounds as they have members. Currently regulars in the mid-west, performing semi-regularly at Frankie's and Mickey Finn's in Toledo, Ohio and Founders in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the band has performed with the likes of Rye Coalition, Touch & Go Recording Artists Silkworm, Matador Artists Fuck and Sub Pop Artists Zumpano. This in contrast to opening slots at fair concerts with the likes of Eddie Money and Babe the Blue Ox. The less frequent performances now tend to be unpredictable, as you won't know how many members, special guests or even what genre of music, for that matter, will be performed in the course of their performance.
